National Eating Disorders Collaboration Youth Surveys

If you’re 25 years or under and want to do something to tackle the growing number of body image and eating issues in Australian guys and girls, then take 15 minutes now to complete the National Eating Disorder Collaboration Youth Survey. You can also register to participate in one of our consultation sessions.   The survey and consultation sessions have been funded by the Australian Government, under the banner of the National Eating Disorders Collaboration led by Butterfly.  The results will be used to shape recommendations to the government on how we can best prevent and treat eating disorders in young people.

Centre for Clinical Interventions

The Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI) is a specialized statewide mental health program. It offers Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for people suffering from mood disorders, anxiety disorders and eating disorders. The Eating Disorders Program is one of the psychological treatment programs offered by CCI. It is a new service, using the latest and best-researched treatment available for eating disorders. Referrals are accepted for patients 16 years and above and as part of the public health system, the service offered is free.

Princess Margaret Hospital for Children Eating Disorders Clinic

The Eating Disorders Program is a specialized, statewide, multidisciplinary team for the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with eating disorders. A Coordinated pediatric and psychological medicine approach provides a comprehensive, evidence based service involving a range of disciplines. A continuum of care is provided from outpatients to inpatient care. A range of treatments are offered including care coordination, parent and family support, individual, family and group therapies, psychiatric assessment and psychopharmacology, school liaison, dietetic counselling and medical assessment and treatment. Referrals are accepted up until 16 years old and as part of the public health system, the service offered is free.

Bridges Association

Bridges Association is a network of individuals, families and health professionals working together to provide a not-for-profit, community-based, charitable organization to advocate for and support people experiencing eating disorders in Western Australia. The name Bridges came from the idea of ‘building bridges' between individuals and families, families and professionals, body and mind, child and adult, city and country.
Short term objectives include:
Creating public awareness of eating disorders
Educating the community about eating disorders
General support for sufferers, carers, families, friends and health professionals.
Support and information for people in rural and remote areas
An internet site
Long term objectives include:
A telephone support line
A community multipurpose house and resource centre
Advocacy and support for the development of services in Western Australia

Hollywood Private Hospital

The Hollywood Private Hospital has a specialist, multidisciplinary Eating Disorders Treatment Program based in the Hollywood Clinic. Optimal treatment combines inpatient and day-patient programs. In-patient management is aimed at stabilizing the disorder followed by a gradual introduction to the group program. Day patients may attend either day or evening therapy groups so that there is a minimal disruption to their work and family life. Referrals are accepted from adolescents and adults.
